Format

Region Qualifiers and Junior Tournaments
3 rounds
2 on 2
25 minutes total for each team
Divisions are arranged by grades: 5-6, 7-8
Grade fours will play with other grade fours in the Junior tournaments.
Division structure is subject to change based on number of players.

The top 10 pairs from each region in grades 5-8 advance to the City Championship on March 4th.

Lunch

Students and teachers should pack a lunch and snacks. Please note the lunch time in the schedule below. We recommend students bring a snack as well.

Prizes

Top prize for the winning team in the City Championship from Grades 5-8 will receive free admission to the US National School SCRABBLE® Championship, which will take place in the spring. Numerous other prizes will be awarded for sportsmanship, high plays and theme words, and participation.

Registration

To register, please download the registration form HERE. Right-click on the link and choose Save As. The registration deadline is January 31, 2014. The form explains how to submit your registration and entry fees.

In order to continue to grow the local competitive SCRABBLE® scene, members of the media are invited to visit the events. Therefore, all players must also present a completed Student Media Release Consent form. Copies of existing TDSB forms may be used or you may download a form HERE. This form can be submitted to us at info@schoolscrabble.ca or presented on the day of the tournament.
